Nowadays, the use of tools and applications is a necessity to ensure a certain quality of service for and maintenance of IT assets.

Applications are often hardware-intensive, resulting in a multiplication of hardware, higher monitoring and maintenance costs, and additional investment costs. Some applications only need hardware resources (computing capacity, RAM, etc.) temporarily for deferred batch runs or peak loads.

Take Black Friday, for example, where dedicated resources are devoted to managing one-off consumption peaks, a sub-optimal decision in terms of investment.

It is therefore essential for professionals to equip themselves with a range of virtualization tools, as well as tools to automatically provision servers, increasing a machine’s ability to respond to peak loads and automating provisioning, loading and script execution to subtly meet application demands without interruption.

The answer lies in automating and industrializing the implementation of private clouds!

The steps are simple:

  • The first step is to draw up an inventory of your application assets and their sizing in terms of resources. New metrics appeared a few years ago with the arrival of HPC (High-Performance Computing), including numerous IOPS, QPS etc., replacing the number of cores, µP frequency, storage and many other metrics. Dedicated performance with the advantages of the Cloud!
  • The second step is the choice of Cloud platform, a very important stage in any project to set up a Private Cloud. In addition to cost issues, the platform’s compatibility with existing hardware must be taken into account. It’s also important to ensure that previous investments pay off.
  • The third step – the most complicated in projects of this type – is to migrate all tools, applications and platforms to the Private Cloud. This is a brief and succinct presentation, as each project has its own specificities and the complexity lies in the details!

That’s why more and more companies are undertaking private cloud implementation projects.

Chat GPT - What does the future hold for web developers?
As coding and programming can now be carried out using LLM (Large Language Model) tools and generative AI, many professions are under threat in the medium term. Web development is one of them. How can we resist the temptation to replace a team of devs when just one person will be able to code with Chat GPT? Lire l'article
